This weekend has been an extra long one at Pingu Towers as we took Fri and Mon off. We didn't do an amazing amount of stuff, but it's been great having an extra couple of days off work.
Friday the weahter was too pants for cycling, so we went and ordered some new specs for Pingu (which were about £275 instead of the expected £375 which was a nice surprise), and then we took the bus to Stonehaven. Once there we spent a couple of hours in the Marine Hotel and scoffed some beer. Nothing very earth movingly exciting on but quaffable nevertheless, except for the Bacchus Framboise beer which was disgustingly like an alcopop. Kiddie Belgian beer if you ask me.
Then after a short nap on the bus back to Furrybootoon we had a brief stop in The Moorings followed by another brief stop in Wetherspoons. All of which had beer but nothing very exciting.
Saturday we went out 'before it starts to rain'. It was spitting before we left and then started raining properly when we were out, so we did some hill work and then got down to the serious business of picking brambles and filled a container. Saturday teatime we had bramble & apple crumble for pudding (nom).
Sunday we went down to Boblert's and did 70km on the bikes, and it didn't rain. Unfortunately Pingu's mudguard broke and his rear wheel is still egg-shaped after last month's 600k madness. So he took it to bits that night, and to cut a long story short there was some compatibility issues with parts. Cue massive sense of humour failure, and me going to mop up all the skulls and crossbones.
Because of the parts incompatibility issue, Pingu still didn't have a working bike for going out for a good ride today. So of course it was fantastically warm and sunny!
I decided, after much thought, to start decorating. Not cos I thought it was a good idea to do it on a lovely day, but because I thought it would be a good idea to get all the audio-visual equipment and massive quantities of cables and other devices containing electrons moved while I had someone to help move them. So at least I got a small part of the room completely finished with 2 coats of paint. Not a large area but probably the worst bit cos it's all the dormers which take ages and are a royal PITA. Hopefully get the rest done in the next couple of weeks.
Anyway, another nice 4 days week this week, a normal weekend, another 2x 4 day weeks and another 4 day weekend to come. Yeah!
Lolcat of the day
